Settings
Settings holds your preferences for how the game looks, sounds and reaches you. Nothing here changes the rules of a realm or your standing in it. Open Game Settings from the account menu, or the Settings tile on the More page on a phone. Settings has four tabs: Interface, Notifications, Audio and Privacy.
Each section names where its choices are kept. This device choices live in this browser only, so another phone or computer keeps its own. Account choices follow you wherever you sign in, and Realm choices apply to the realm you are playing. A short confirmation appears after a change saves.
Interface
- Text size scales the game's text and map labels from 100% to 150% on this browser. Larger text can make some panels scroll.
- Reset window positions, where your screen offers it, clears the places your movable windows remember, so each one opens in its default spot again.
- Map sets the basemap imagery when a realm offers more than one (coordinates never change), shows or hides the minimap, chooses whether map actions open as a ring or a list (a phone always uses a sheet), and turns Auto-focus on select on or off. With a keyboard, Z on the map toggles auto-focus without opening Settings.
- Advisor sets how much Don Trask, your campaign aide, comments. Turning him down never hides your objectives.
- Motion and display follows your device's motion setting or reduces animation, and sets the render quality for slower devices.
- Concept tooltips explain underlined game terms when you hover over or tap them, with a choice of hover delay and pinning.
Notifications
Choose which emails reach you: game alerts, sent sparingly when something needs you while you are away, and a periodic digest of scores, battles and alliance activity. You can also turn on browser push for this device, pick which alerts it sends, and mute a realm's push alerts without leaving it.
Audio
Background music, with the choice to start it when you enter a realm, and sound effects for the interface and battles, each with its own volume.
Privacy
Block players so they cannot start new direct messages with you; the block list belongs to the realm you are in. You can turn product analytics off for this browser, which also clears its stored identifier, and choose whether the Hall of Fame shows your live ribbons and active colonies.
