Classic Ruleset v0.5

Ribbons

A realm ends, but what you achieved in it does not have to. Ribbons are permanent awards earned for how you finish an era, and unlike everything else in a realm they follow your account rather than staying behind in the world that ended.

How ribbons work

Ribbons are handed out automatically the moment an era ends, based on the final standings of that realm. You do not claim them or spend anything to earn them. They are:

  • Account-wide and permanent. A ribbon you earn in one realm is attached to your account forever. Win three eras and you carry three sets of ribbons, no matter that those worlds are long finished.
  • Earned from final standings. Every ribbon comes from where you and your alliance placed when the clock stopped. There is no participation ribbon: each one means you finished somewhere that mattered.
  • Stackable. Several ribbons can land at once. Finishing first as a player while your alliance also wins the era earns you the player, alliance, and champion ribbons together.

Your ribbons show up on your colony when another player inspects it, and in the Hall of Fame, so they double as a public record of what you have done.

The ribbons

Ribbon How you earn it
Era Champion Be a member of the winning alliance when the era ends, by any victory type.
Relic Holder Win the era by relic victory while you personally hold a relic at the end.
Era Gold / Silver / Bronze Finish the era ranked 1st, 2nd, or 3rd among all players.
Alliance Gold / Silver / Bronze Be a member of the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd ranked alliance at the end of the era.
Top 10 Finish the era among the top ten players. A podium finish earns this as well.

The most prestigious ribbon you hold is shown first. Era Champion and Relic Holder sit above the podium ribbons, which sit above Top 10.

Where ribbons do not apply

Ribbons are a record of competitive play, so they are only awarded in standard realms. A private realm you or another player hosts does not grant ribbons, which keeps a host from minting awards in a world they control.
