How to Play RealmConquest

New to tick-based strategy games? This guide takes you from creating a free account to founding your first colony, winning your first battle, and joining an alliance. Everything you need for your first session.

What is RealmConquest?

RealmConquest is a free-to-play, tick-based browser strategy MMO. You found a colony on a shared world map, grow an economy, build squads, capture outposts, and team up in alliances to fight for control of the realm. It runs in any browser on desktop or mobile, with no download, and there is no pay-to-win. The full feature list has the big picture.

First, how a tick works

Unlike real-time games, RealmConquest advances on a clock called a tick. You queue actions (build this, move that squad, attack there), and they all resolve together when the tick fires (often about once an hour, set per realm). That pacing is the whole point: you plan, you commit, and you check back. Most players need only 15 to 30 minutes a day. More on how ticks work.

Your first session, step by step

  1. Create a free account and join a realm

Sign up, pick a commander name, and you are dropped into an active realm. It takes under a minute, and there is nothing to download.

  2. Found your colony

Your colony is your home base on the shared world map. It produces the resources everything else depends on. The opening moves matter, so start here if you are new to the genre.

  3. Build your economy

Construct and upgrade structures to grow your resource income. Your economy funds your army, your expansion, and your defense, so do not neglect it early.

  4. Train your first squad

Squads are your military units. They move across the map between ticks and fight at the next tick boundary. Every battle produces a report you can read. Combat is fully deterministic, so you can learn from it.

  5. Capture an outpost

Outposts are resource nodes scattered across the map. Taking them multiplies your income and extends your territory, your first real step toward power.

  6. Join an alliance

This is the single best move a new player can make. Alliances share map vision, coordinate attacks and defense, and protect each other. Find one in your first day.

  7. Play toward winning

Each realm has a win condition built on territorial conquest and the late-game scramble for relics. Keep growing, stay allied, and push for control of the map.

Tips for new players

  • Check in at least twice a day: once to queue actions, once to react after the tick resolves.
  • Join an alliance on day one. Lone players get picked off; allied players thrive.
  • Grow your economy before your army, because production wins the long game.
  • Read your battle reports. Combat is deterministic, so every loss teaches you something.
  • It is free with no pay-to-win, so you cannot buy your way past good play.
